Although a fairly rare thing in the modern age, use of spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg in beer actually predates the widespread use of hops as the “spice” in beer. This full-bodied, traditional winter ale is spiced with molasses, honey, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clove, and vanilla. We feature these spices in our slightly sweet, dark brown ale that adds notes of toffee and raisin to the mix. For us, the complex, warming flavor elicits nostalgia of cozy holiday evenings with loved ones in front of a crackling fire.
